Company History

1In 1981, Randy McDonald started serving the cremation and funeral industry under the name of Quality Containers. At that time, the company was located in Ormond Beach, Florida. Shortly after its start, Randy moved the business to Holly Hill, Florida in 1982.

Three years later, in June of 1985, Randy changed the company’s name to the one you know today, McDonald Containers.

Randy McDonald sold McDonald Containers to Mike Kurey in 1995, who then moved the company to a 2000 square foot facility in Daytona Beach, FL.

In 2005, Jim Faber purchased McDonald Containers from Mike. In an effort to keep his family in the city that is known to be “famously hot but surprisingly cool”, Jim decided to move the business to Columbia, South Carolina.

After 6 years of new products, increased customer base and expanding sales, Jim moved the company, in May of 2011, to a larger facility on S. Edisto Avenue in Columbia, SC. Due to this growth, McDonald Containers was able to expand their product line, increasing their ability to serve the needs of the industry.

Today, McDonald Containers looks forward to continuing growth and service as the funeral and cremation industries expand.
